Soft Tissue & Mass Removal Procedures
We offer a variety of surgical services including laceration repairs, mass/tumor removals**, abdominal exploratory for suspected tumor or foreign body retrieval, thyroidectomy, as well as medically necessary cosmetic procedures for medical conditions such as entropion, cherry eye, laryngeal paralysis, stenotic nares and gingival hyperplasia. We can also provide referral services to surgical facilities for more advanced procedures.
We can also offer histopathology options for any masses/tumors which are removed. The samples are sent to the Antech reference laboratory and results are typically received in 7-10 days.
All of our surgical procedures can be discussed in advance with one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians or the surgeon on the case to review the actual procedure, treatment plan estimates and pre/post-operative care for your pet. We provide anti-inflammatory/pain medications prior to all procedures as well as oral medications to go home to be administered during your pet's recovery period. Antibiotics, when indicated, can also be provided in both injectable and oral forms.
Should your pet need a more advanced procedure, we may recommend post-op overnight hospitalization at our unstaffed hospital or a referral to overnight care at a local emergency hospital following the surgical procedure.
**If your pet is being admitted for a mass removal, please indicate which mass(es) are to be removed with a permanent marker, highlighter or even lipstick. The LVT will review the locations with you when your pet is admitted and answer any additional questions you may have.
